When I think about this time next month I’m overwhelmed with emotion. There are a few birthdays but none more important than Baby Lou’s. technically, she’ not due until the 31st but really anything after the 10th is fair game. EeeK!
There’s so much to do from now until then. There’s one more baby shower, there’s a pediatrician to pick out, meals to prep and we’ve got parenting classes lined up for the next three Wednesdays and even some Saturdays.
Speaking of classes, we attended our first this week, Labor and Birthing, and immediately after it was done I made “A” go to the store and pick up Cheetos and Peachios (mentioned here). Can you say, stress eating? I also think that it’s worth mentioning that today the Peachios are already gone, I’ve already eaten spaghetti squash and sausage (not so bad except that is was at 7:15am), nachos, and currently devouring a PB & J. Third trimester I think you’re going to win.
I’ve been working really hard to not gain too much weight, not for vanity reasons but because my mom gained 80lbs with me and I know that is not healthy for mom or baby. I was afraid somehow that that weight gain would be hereditary. So far I’ve gained 19lbs. I don’t know what an official poll would say about whether that is good or bad but I feel pretty good about it. Unfortunately, I feel like the magnitude of what’s about to happen is just setting in and it is owning my will power. Really, I don’t have the strength/ energy to fight it. Third trimester, I’m going to yield to you just please take it easy on me. I’ve been such a good girl. Please.
Next weekend we are getting the car seat professionally installed. Is that a thing that people really do? Idk, but this first-time parent doesn’t know better so off to the certified car seat installer we go. If it seems early, I agree and further I’m a little freaked out at the prospect of having an empty car seat hanging out in my back seat. But for the sake of saving some money and safety, now is the time.
I haven’t even started on any cleaning/ organizing projects. I don’t know where to start. I figured I’d wait until after the last baby shower so we can order anything left on the registry. Then I’ll have a better idea of how much space we’ll need and what areas really need attention. I’m anxious that I’m cutting it short, especially, considering my energy level this week. Luckily I have some preteen (read: full of energy) cousins that are on summer break that have volunteered to come help. I can’t wait to dig in and to spend some quality time with them.
I’m still trying to get some time with “A” before baby comes but we are running out of weekends, I think I’m going to have to get really creative if I I’m going to make this happen. Any ideas?
As for TTS I’m hoping to get the ice cream maker out and do some experimenting. Past that your guess is as good as mine. But I better figure it out real quick!
What are you looking forward to over the next month? Doesn’t time go by so fast?
